Johnnetta has now added schools to her list of services. As an advocate for education and young people, Johnnetta uses her raw uncut approach to reach at-risk teens. She continues to keep it real, and show this next generation where they could end up based on simple choices that they make every day. Her message goes beyond "Stay In School" and "Say No To Drugs". Surviving and Thriving, What is it and How Do We Do it? This training will define and discuss the many dimensions of teacher efficacy by becoming re-aquatint with professional and personal ethics/values, cultural sensitivity, diverse student populations, demographics and composition. Not just knowing how to survive but how to THRIVE is an important contributor to preparing students for achievement. Participants will gain new skills, strategies, and techniques to implement developmentally appropriate practices.
“Gurl! That Ain’t Cute, Education is Cute” (2012)-The purpose of the program, is designed to aid in the reduction of adverse social and physical behavioral cycles such as: avoidance of tobacco and substance abuse, risky sexual behavior, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual identity, teen pregnancy, abuse, sexual assault/molestation, mental health, academic failure/termination and avoiding harm and violence among youths from childhood to young adulthood.
